Wow, just wow!I have been rewatching Todd Haynes' five part mini-series over the last week, in preparation for the upcoming release of Carol.

I think Mildred Pierce is an exquisite piece of work. i talk to people and i don’t understand them…if i sold t-shirts that read “Kate Winslet’s American Accent” i would become rich, just like mildred pierceEvan Rachel Wood goes from zero to mega-watt super-bitch in no time. I can say without a doubt this is Kate Winslet's best performances.

The story takes place in Los Angeles, but was shot in New York, and because of an unusually chilly spring, palm trees on the set had to be kept from wilting by being heated in a greenhouse.
